Provides subject-matter expert analysis and consulting services in support of Warfighting Lab Incentive Fund (WLIF) projects, future technology analytic support to Joint Warfighting Development, and forecasts of emerging science, enabling technologies and related analyses.

As a OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST at the GS-1515-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Performs scientific work as a Subject Matter Expert that involves designing, developing, and adapting mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques to provide guidance to senior military decision makers in assigned area(s) of responsibility (AORs) listed below.
Supports Warfighting Lab Incentive Fund project agreement development, review, execution, and subsequent reporting obligations.
Supports efforts that assess the capability of the Joint Force and the potential impact of Warfighting Lab Incentive Fund projects and Concept of Operations on joint force structure and strategies that support the Department of Defense's warfighting capabilities in the areas of doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel and facilities.
Forecasts emerging science and enabling technologies applicable to joint warfighting using analytic methodologies and tools.
Works closely with the Combatant Commands, Services, and other Department of Defense organizations for achieving consistency across the portfolio.

- Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays and overtime during peak work periods. Occasional participation in demanding, intense, 24-hour exercise operations is also required. Multi-day overnight stays at exercise sites may be required.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS -13 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Utilizes project management principles to coordinate Warfighting Lab Incentive Fund oversight responsibilities of an extensive Warfighting Lab Incentive Fund project portfolio.
Applies professional operations research methodologies to the application of new analytical developments, methodologies, and research findings to improve project evaluation and determine overall effectiveness and impact of the Warfighting Lab Incentive Fund program.
Provides advice and expert consultation regarding emerging future technology and Warfighting Lab Incentive Fund project alignment to assess concept required capabilities.
Applies professional operations research methodologies to apply new analytical developments, methodologies, and research findings to improve understanding of emerging science and technology and potential impact on joint warfighting and create information for sound analyses.

In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 1515, series as listed below:
REQUIRED: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
