This vacancy is for a GS-0809-9, Construction Control Representative located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, TRACEN CAPE MAY DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION. Duty location will be determined upon selection.

You will serve as a/an Construction Control Representative and be responsible to perform inspection of projects of varied and complex nature to include electrical, mechanical and structural aspects of construction. The purpose of the position is to provide oversight and inspection on a wide range of construction projects..

Qualifications

Engineering aid or technician or surveying technician performing work directly related to construction. Construction inspector or construction representative responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, inspecting materials and workmanship, and insuring adherence to safety requirements. Supervisor of crafts persons, equipment operators, or mechanics engaged in construction work, provided that the experience involved responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting workmanship for adherence to such plans and specifications. EDUCATION: Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree meets the requirements for GS-9. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-08 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
