You will serve as a CONTACT REPRESENTATIVE in the Medical Boards Branch, Patient Administration Department of NMRTC CAMP LEJEUNE NC.

Duties

You will execute initial screening of active-duty service members at onset of MEB recommendation to collect, record and verify information and briefly explain the DES process. You will gather required documentation from physicians, member, and parent command to ensure all abnormal conditions are assessed and coordinates consultation to specialty clinics if necessary. You will coordinate closely with the PEBLO and arranges for additional medical information from the physicians or service member, as applicable. You will ensure that each case is procedurally connect, complete, consistent, compliant and authentic. You will utilize the DES database, Military Health Systems (MHS) Genesis, Joint Longitudinal Viewer (JLV) and the Bureau of Medicine (BUMED) mandated Sailor Marine Readiness Tracking System (SMART) site to collect information.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing administrative support services to service members processing through the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), and the entire Disability Evaluation System (DES). Experience assisting the Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO), Medical Evaluation Board Approving Authority (MEBAA) and other pertinent team members regarding the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) process. Experience performing initial review, and all procedural work related to Disability Evaluation System (DES), Overseas cases, Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) processing and Temporary Disability Retired List (TDRL). Experience explaining significance of completion of forms (intake form, physical form) to ensure all conditions are assessed accurately during the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) process.
