About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 63rd Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site 2 Storage Branch located in San Antonio, Texas.

Duties
Operate a variety of diesel and gasoline powered equipment such as generators, wheeled/track vehicles and semi-trailer combinations.
Operate various types of forklifts and equipment to complete loading, unloading, warehousing, and preparing equipment and supplies for transport.
Transport equipment that may be oversized or overweight.
Ensure load weights are properly distributed and secured.
Take oil samples and prepare them for shipment.
Service vehicle braking systems and lights.
Perform preventative maintenance checks and services.
Receive incoming warehouse items and equipment and check them for damage and serviceability.
Issues and stores equipment in the warehouse.
Prepares various accountability documents and warehouse reports.
Requirements
- THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Personnel Security Investigation.
- This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
- This position requires a Class A CDL within 180 days of employment.
- This position requires a medical examination prior to employment.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: Perform common operation of gasoline powered equipment and warehousing tasks; operate wheeled vehicles to include forklifts; perform preventative maintenance to include checking fluid levels and tire pressure; and perform basic warehousing tasks. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort Required: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require the worker to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Works at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls when driving, turning, stopping and starting the forklifts and motor vehicles and in raising, lowering and tilting the forklift loads. Frequently lifts and carries supplies, material and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Working Conditions: Subject to working outdoors during periods of inclement weather. Is exposed to serious injuries while operating vehicles over public roads and on the installation. Works on concrete floors and in drafty areas. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acids, etc., resulting in bruises, cuts, burns, and skin irritation. Wearing of hearing protection and other safety equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions.
