About the Position: The incumbent of this position will serve as the Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) performing all clerical and administrative work involved in the operation of the site office.

Duties

Provide information to employees on various personnel matters and procedures. Maintain credit card and use to purchase office supplies, equipment, training and publications. Prepare reports using word processing software such as, spreadsheets, databases, or presentation software to provide managerial support. Prepare forms for transfer of property between personnel and site offices. Conduct investigation to determine causes for inventory discrepancies by checking all property documents. Serve as training coordinator, responsible for disseminating information to employees regarding mandatory training. Perform general office administrative duties to support management activities. Provide instruction as needed to contractors concerning the procedural aspects of their contract.

Requirements

Maintain time and leave records for an office using an automated financial management system; 2.) Purchase office supplies and equipment utilizing an office purchase card; 3.) Compose various nontechnical correspondence, reports, and briefings; 4.) Reconcile purchase records with credit card invoices; 5.) Assist in the formulation of travel arrangements, orders, and vouchers; and/or 6.) Brief and assist management on the annual budgets status and the availability of funding. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
