This a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position.
This National Guard position is a Temporary Promotion WS-3401-11 ALLIED TRADES SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1230000 and is part of the MO Combined Support Maintenance Shop. This is a non-bargaining position. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BELOW.
Duties
Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor.
Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors.
Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
Re-directs individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work.
Informs the supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources.
Participates with the supervisor in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work.
Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes.
Implements corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems.
Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Sets performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance.
Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed.
Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, and mobilization and command support exercises.
Requirements
- Management retains the right to terminate the temporary promotion action without further notice.
- Selected individual will return to their former position when the temporary promotion is terminated.

- This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

Qualifications
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).
Maximum Military Grade - CW4 (W-4)
Minimum Military Grade - SGM (E-9)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates your ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
WS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 36 months of specialized experience which demonstrates your ability to plan and organize work assignments for the allied trades function. The specialized experience must demonstrate your ability to review work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; knowledge of various lines of work performed by the allied trades function; deal effectively with other people; supervise through subordinate supervisors, or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate, skill at applying human relations techniques, knowledge of general supervisory concepts, knowledge of shop processes; and adapt existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
Education
This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
