Duties
You will load, unload, move, and stack material such as moderately heavy boxes and bulky items by hand, hand trucks, or dollies.
You will collect and empty garbage cans, burn garbage and trash, and wash and wax cars and trucks by hand or using a powered buffer.
You will move, arrange, and collect equipment/material, ensuring that no damage occurs while providing courteous and efficient service.
You will operate hand tools and simple power equipment to mow lawns, clear small trees and bushes, and remove snow.
You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You may be exposed to high voltage cables, high pressure pipes, and toxic chemicals such as: mercury, asbestos, PCS, and pesticides.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You may frequently be exposed to weather and temperature extremes, drafts, noise, dust, and dirt and the possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts, scrapes.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision, basic knowledge of routine maintenance procedures for power equipment operated that includes a visual check of the equipment, limited lubrication, cleaning/replacing air filters, and refueling.
