You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst in the Commander Navy Reserve Force, DCOS for Financial Management (N8), Accounting Division (N83), of COMNAVRESFOR.
Duties
You will comply, analyze, and summarize financial and budget information related to assigned areas of a financial program.
You will research, analyze, and query financial systems for validation of data integrity to ensure compliance with DOD/DON regulations.
You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information, and prepares summaries for use by managers.
You will track and control special program works pertaining to costs and benefit systems.
You will troubleshoot issues with automated financial system, e.g. FASTDATA, CFMS, STARTS-FL, SABRS, etc.
You will provide advice, assistance, and technical guidance on accounting issues, financial matters, and funding issues.
You will monitor BSO suspense activity to ensure timely, accurate, and proper clearing of suspense transactions in accordance with DOD FMR regulations and FMB/FMP guidelines.
You will reconcile USSGL accounts between financial systems monthly and at year end close for financial statement certification.

- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. This certification level must be achieved within prescribed timelines.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
GS-11: Experience formulating and estimating budget to support plans, programs, and activities. Experience reviewing and evaluating budget requests; control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures. Experience interpreting organizational budgets, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices, and regulations. Experience performing analytical work pertaining to costs and benefit systems. Experience using automated financial systems (e.g. FASTDATA, CFMS, STARS-FL, SABRS).
GS-09: Experience preparing timely and accurate monthly accounting, suspense and financial status reports. Experience troubleshooting issues with automated financial systems. Experience retrieving data from accounting and feeder systems such as ERP, SABRS, SMARTS, DDRS, CFMS, PBIS, etc. Experience researching, analyzing, and querying financial systems for validation of data integrity. Experience reconciling accounts. Experience interpreting and applying financial management regulations and guidelines. Experience working with MS Office including Excel worksheets, pivot tables, formulas, etc.
