You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Mission Assurance Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Duties

You will manage multiple special security programs based on knowledge of interrelationships between varying programs and/or different agency polices. You will be responsible for the implementation and management of personnel security programs. You will review and evaluate background investigative reports as necessary to determine security eligibility for individuals requiring access to sensitive information, material, resources or work areas. You will maintain control and accountability of all classified material in the custody of the command. You will manage the continues evaluating programs by identifying and reporting all security violations, criminal activity and all other derogatory information that is developed on contract employees.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: practicing commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies; experience in evaluating the impact of factors (e.g., cost, personnel qualifications, etc.) on resolving security issues; and experience in addressing and resolving security questions using knowledge from multiple areas of security specialization. GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: practicing commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies; familiarity with information security, personnel security, operations security, and/or industrial security. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-09

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

GS-07

1 full year of graduate level education

or

superior academic achievement
