The incumbent of this position will serve as the Supervisory Mental Health Specialist as well as a clinician for the Haskell Indian Health Center, Lawrence, KS. The incumbent will be supervising a variety of professional and administrative staff. This position is supervised by the Clinical Director of Haskell Indian Health Center.
Duties
Provide diagnostic, treatment, referral, crisis intervention, and consultation service for psychiatric patients in accordance with standards established by the incumbent's professional mental health organization.
Maintains all appropriate client records in an automated data base system.
Supervise, monitor and direct the operations of the Anadarko Behavioral Health Department.
Prepare and monitor program budgets.
Develop and implement community based treatment, education, intervention and prevention programs that will enable successful mental health.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Degree: A bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: have direct experience in supervising, monitoring and directing the operations of a Behavioral Health Clinic and performing clinician duties such as diagnostic treatment, referral, crisis intervention, and consultation services for psychiatric patients in a Clinical setting.
Selective Placement Factor: Applicants must have one of the following current, valid licensure: Licensed Psychologist or Psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Behavioral Practitioner (LBP). You must provide a copy of your current, valid license with your application or your application will be considered incomplete.
SUPERVISORY ABILITIES: This is a supervisory position and candidates, in addition to the professional qualifications listed, must have demonstrated in their work experience or training, that they possess, or have potential to develop, the qualities of successful supervision, as required for this position.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
