Duties
As a Supervisory Administrative Officer, you will perform the following duties:
Serve as Operations, Management and Information Division Chief and senior advisor to the Director and Deputy of the Office to direct operational program areas and ensure effective use of resources in support of fisheries management.
Oversee the office finances and budgetary execution as directed; develop multi-year and long-range strategic and tactical plans; and coordinates all fiscal and structural changes of organizational programmatic initiatives through office Deputy and Director.
Apply knowledge of budgetary, policy, and administrative matters to provide authoritative advice and interpretation of legal, regulatory, and procedural guidelines. Approve multiyear and longer-range work plans developed by subordinate supervisors and manage overall work to enhance achievement of the goals and objectives of the office.
Ensure office goals and objectives are in alignment with the agency's objectives. Improve, implement, and maintain efficient management practices, administrative procedures and supervision of allocated human, financial, and material resources and ensure compliance with administrative and operational requirements.

EDUCATION: There is no positive education requirement for this position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Specialized experience:
To qualify at the ZA-5 (GS-15):
Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZA-4 or (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Planning or leading projects or teams, such as assigning work and setting priorities;
Supporting office or organization operations such as, but not limited to, budget, personnel, information management, information technology, procurement, strategic planning, property management, etc.; and
Developing work plans and strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
