About the Position: Act as Senior Army Force Structure Analyst for Programs and Strategy Team, Plans and Programs Division, Force Management Directorate, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G3/5/7 in support of Operational Availability (OA) Studies, CC (Conventional Campaign), MSFD (Multi-Service Force Deployment) development processes, and Defense Planning Scenario development with the Army Staff, Joint Staff, and OSD.
Duties
Provide guidance on force structure issues related to strategic planning.
Serve as the senior force structure analyst for strategic planning in the Army.
Develop policy and coordinate force structure guidance.
Analyze force structure impacts and implications on the Total Army Analysis (TAA).
Develop and maintain extensive current information pertaining to force structure.
Audit changes in force structure requirements to ensure compliance with doctrine.
Review Army force structure requirements to ensure compliance with Army regulations.
Manage strategic planning for the Operating Force based on information in the Structure and Manpower Authorization System (SAMAS).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a testing designated position.
- Personnel are required to sign DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
- Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of 25% may be required.

GS-14 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting strategic planning for force structure programs; providing guidance to leadership on force structure issues and/or strategic planning; presenting briefings on force capabilities; and utilizing systems such as SQL, PL/SQL, R, Tableau to extract and analyze force structure data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
