We expect to fill one vacancy at this time; however, additional positions may be filled from this announcement if they become available.
Duties
Mow lawns and trim shrubs and trees; dig ditches and trenches; and cut heavy trees.
Change light bulbs, wash walls, run and maintain power tools and equipment, and maintain and replace blinds.
Operate heavy powered equipment such as lawn mowers and hand tools such as shovels, rakes, lawn edging equipment to maintain buildings, grounds, roads and trails.
Load and unload trucks: move furniture, equipment, and supplies by hand or with various moving devices (dollies and/or hand trucks). Assist in the maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Shovel ice/snow from sidewalks, steps, and curbs throughout the site during winter.
Requirements

- Appointment will be subject to a favorably adjudicated background/suitability investigation/determination.

- This position requires regular and recurring overtime and shift work.
- You must be 18 years of age or older to be appointed to this position.

Qualifications
Screen-out Element: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. as evidenced by performing basic laborer duties including operating hand and power tools, making minor repairs and grounds keeping.
OPM Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations will be used in determining your qualifications. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through experience shown in the resume materials, that you possess the skill level that has equipped you with the particular job elements to successfully perform the duties of Laborer without more than normal supervision.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Physical Demands: Walk moderate distances, stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, stretch, and perform work standing on ladders and scaffolds. Heavy physical exertion is required to lift and move heavy objects, supplies, materials, and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment: Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Temperatures range from -7 in the winter to 70 in the summer. Work with vibrating heavy equipment and is subjected to strong cleaning solutions as well as dust, dirt, noise, grease, sawdust and exhaust fumes.
