This position is located in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, in the Maintenance Division.
Career seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from the beginning of November through end of August, approximately 10 months in pay status, and will be in non-pay for the remainder of the year.
Duties
As a maintenance and operations worker, you will be working in the Maintenance Division in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. Covering 3.3 million acres of rugged mountains, dynamic glaciers, temperate rainforest, wild coastlines and deep sheltered fjords, Glacier Bay National Park is a highlight of Alaska's Inside Passage and part of a 25-million-acre World Heritage Site-one of the world's largest international protected areas. Major duties will include:
Operation and utilization of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain road surfaces, trails, and parking areas.
Repair, maintenance and overhaul of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Performs fabrication and modification to existing machines, attachments, and equipment to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and safety.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
You must meet the selective placement factor to qualify for this position:
You must be able to possess a Class-B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with valid medical certification and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), Tanker and Air-Brake endorsements within one year of start date of this position.
