About the position: This position will be assigned to the Aquatic Center on F. E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne, WY. .
This position is considered Flexible. The position is guaranteed zero hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits.
The starting wage for this position is $18.65 per hour.
Duties
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The purpose of this position is to assist the Aquatics Director and to serve as a point of contact in the director's absence.
Observes the condition and behavior of swimmers to ascertain problems.
Fosters good relationships with patrons. Maintains order and/or expels patrons as appropriate. Reports problems to supervisors.
Uses a variety of techniques such as artificial respiration, CPR, and first aid. Uses equipment such as first aid kits, buoys, ropes, rings, shepherd's hooks, and backboard.
Cleans and maintains the swimming facility. Checks pool water chemistry according to established schedules and instructions. Opens and inspects facilities at the beginning of the day and closes and secures facilities at the end of the day. Reports equipment/facility problems to the appropriate personnel. Ensures that swimming area is open to patrons at the scheduled times and that authorized persons only are admitted to the area.
Conducts swimming lessons for adults and children following prescribed lesson plan and submits plan to supervisor for approval.
Uses cash register for collection of fees in accordance with cash handling procedures. Completes cashier reports and deposits.
Acts as records custodian. Prepares schedules for supervisor's approval. Schedules and coordinates swimming lessons, special events, recurring use of pool by outside organizations, and massage therapy appointments.
Trains new employees on processes and procedures.

Requirements
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, including a NACI Tier 1 background investigation and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position has been identified as a drug Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must possess and provide a current and valid nationally recognized lifeguard certification covering lifesaving and water rescue methods, skills, and procedures, basic first aid certification, water safety instructor certification, and CPR for the professional rescuer certification.
Experience which provided a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules, and procedures, skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable.
Must have responsible experience in clerical, office, cash handling work.
Must possess the ability to resolve common arithmetic problems in cash handling and inventory procedures.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
