About the Position: This position is located in a U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) Battalion (BN). Its purpose is to supervise a team consisting of a supply technician, support services specialist, and transportation assistant in support of the BN's logistics functions.

Duties

Provides guidance and assistance to managers, employees within the Battalion (BN), companies, and stations on all aspects of logistics management. Supervises a team consisting of a supply technician, support services specialist, and transportation assistant who perform BN logistical support. Manages performance of BN logistical functions to include vehicle management, facility management, and supply work. Maintains contact within BN to assure timely support, provide information, troubleshoot, solve problems, and coordinate actions. Serves as BN Primary Hand Receipt Holder (PHRH) who ensures that property accountability is maintained as required.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business, Logistics Management, or Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
