Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing human resources management services to employees and managers within the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) in two or more functional areas of personnel, e.g., recruitment and placement, position classification, employee relations and performance management, employee benefits, employee compensation, and/or human resource development.
Typical work assignments will include:
- Provides recruitment and placement services for administrative support, legal support, and attorney positions.
- Provides position classification support for a variety of positions within the USAO.
- Identifies, develops and manages training provided to employees of the USAO.
- Provides a wide-range of benefits advisory services for employees of the USAO.
- Reviews, evaluates, and manages an established performance management system.
- Provides advice on basic pay, premium pay and leave administration laws and regulations.
- Performs a variety of ancillary personnel technical support functions as required.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Background investigation, credit check, and drug test required.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.

Qualifications
GS-09: To be eligible at the GS-09 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a Combination of Education and Experience.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level.
Specialized experience is defined as experience advising managers; resolving moderately complex, recurring human resources issues; applying standardized analytical and evaluation techniques; and interpreting and applying regulatory material in at least one of the following areas: position classification, employee relations and performance management, employee benefits, or human resources development.
Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., HR Management): You must have completed all coursework culminating in a Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of 1 full year is creditable.)
