This position is in the United States Mint at Philadelphia, Production Maintenance Division. As an Engineering Technician, you will be providing complete support to engineers and maintenance and production staff in accomplishing all projects related to new or improved manufacturing equipment and maintenance processes from conceptualization to installation and testing.
Duties
As an Engineering Technician, you will:
Be responsible for the start-up and shutdown of the robotic coin assembly machine
Maintain a log documenting machine downtime and solutions to machine problems and malfunctions
Perform technical engineering work to plan, write, evaluate, and standardize new programs for new coin designs
Review and provide comments to specifications on new equipment design, layout, workflow, safety, maintenance, set-up procedures, and all other items related to the proper installation or incorporation of new equipment or attachments
Be responsible for carrying out the preventive maintenance schedule specified and documented by the manufacturer
Qualifications

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience for the GS-11 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-09 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Providing Engineering support services in a manufacturing, production or construction environment using Computer-aided Design/Drafting (AutoCAD) and/or SolidWorks software packages and geometric tolerancing.
