Duties

You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration. You will formulate budget and estimate to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities. You will develop and interpret budget policies and practices. You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organizations programs and administration operations. You will provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing accounting and financial, and data; preparing and presenting reports, papers, or fact sheets to provide budget analysis to support civilian labor; applying fiscal law, policies, regulations, principles or standards to financial management.
