You will serve as a Materials Handler in the FLC JACKSONVILLE Product and Service Regional Transportation and Distribution for Transporation of Things (TOT) of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.
Duties
You will verify shipments by checking shipping documents and match specific item identification by name, stock number, letter, code, quantity, and unit of issue on containers.
You will unload incoming shipments and documents receipt of material.
You will apply material handling techniques in storing items providing for easy retrieval, convenience in handling, protection
from damage, and ease of movement.
You will coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials to facilitate movement of materials in accordance with priorities, scheduling requirements, and space allocations.
You will operate equipment in a safe manner, applying established safety rules and regulations to minimize minor violations and to avoid major violations due to employee error or negligence.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

I have the ability to perform of a Materials Handler as demonstrated by experience working under normal supervision receiving, storing, selecting, shipping, pickup and delivery of general or specialized bulk materials and equipment; receive and deliver materials in a safe manner to assist customers; ensure both materials and equipment are properly and safely stored, protected and maintained; match, check, and compare data on selection instruments against materials to be issued or shipped; operate material handling equipment to move, stack, unstack, load, unload bin and position materials.
