About the Position: Serve as a Plans and Operations Officer for the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security located at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Duties
Supervise the Plans and Operations Branch and conduct the appropriate actions on matters and policies related to personnel management.
Provide direct supervision and back-up capability, with regards to message processing and task tracking for the Message Center.
Represent the Chief of the Plans and Operations Division, when called upon to do so, at meetings and briefings.
Assist, support, and participate in special events and exercises on Joint Base MDL.
Supervise the functions of the Operations Specialists on tasks that include, but are not limited to, equipment accountability, General Services Administration (GSA) vehicle allocation and maintenance, and key control.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent will occasionally be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Position is emergency essential for mobilization.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing mobilization and/or demobilization plans processes; 2) Advising leadership on improvements to operations that will enhance mobilization; 3) Planning contingency operations to execute exercises such as: emergency operations, mobilization and demobilization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
