This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Atlantic Area, Operations Division (LANT-3), Operational Forces Branch (LANT-37), Tactical Law Enforcement Team South in Opa-Locka, FL

Duties

The incumbent will serve as a Close Quarters Combat Training Coordinator, responsible for preparing training sites, live-fire ranges, and other training facilities to support training programs and for overseeing training and conducting evaluations during formal institutional training, off-site sustainment training, major training events, and during national exercises. 

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Applicants for this position will be required to submit to a drug test.
  • Have completed/can obtain USCG Close Quarters Combat Instructor corse(CQCI)
  • This position may require a one year probationary period.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

AT THE GS-13 GRADE LEVEL:  GS-13, Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level (in the Federal sector). Examples of specialized experience include: overseeing the maintenance, safety, and efficient operation of TACLET South’s maritime training facility; ensures that all aspects of the facility, including equipment, utilities, and grounds, are well-maintained and comply with regulatory standards; administer and coordinate scheduling, training, and maintenance, including coordinating use by outside agencies and ensuring outside agencies follow the training facility’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and safety guidelines.Note:  Applicant will have successfully completed the USCG Close Quarters Combat Instructor (CQCI) corse, or able to successfully complete within the probationary period.Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
