Duties

Serves as the Site Manager; Responsible for administering all distribution programs; Reviews and recommends change to procedures and requirements involving supply operations (Cont'd from above) Programs and projects affect the ability of the Center to provide supply support to agencies, activities, customers, and personnel worldwide. Serves as the primary technical authority on distribution operations and programs within the facility, interpreting DDC and higher level guidance and developing local operating instructions and policies.. Applies the requirements of administrative knowledge and skills to plan and coordinate the workload, assigns and adjusts priorities, provides technical advice and policy direction, and performs supervisory personnel administration duties. Serves as the point of contact on environmental issues and as the key custodian. Work directed typically includes a variety of General Schedule (GS) administrative (Cont'd from above) technical and clerical occupations and Federal Wage System (FWS) semi-skilled and skilled occupations. Supervises control over receiving operations; traffic management; inventory control to include managing inventory workload requirements (Cont'd from above) causative research, and reconciliation; central management of surveillance inspection requirements. Performs independent analysis resolving difficult issues and problems involving the identification of receipt and evaluation work flow problems. Recommends action on major problems arising from conflicting directives, critical or emergency mission developments, recurring errors or operating problems (Cont'd from above) adverse inspection problems, and recommendations for national applications on matters involving major policy decisions and precedent determinations.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Plans, directs, and coordinates depot operations through subordinate supervisor and team leaders. Conducts studies, develops and simplifies workflow utilizing work simplification procedures, statistical sampling, work measurement and performance standards. Monitors productivity through information provided by the Center's Management Information System (MIS) and Distribution Standard System (DSS) to ensure standards are met and/or exceeded. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
