Duties
This position serves as the Realty Specialist (Lead Real Property Specialist) and is responsible for a broad range of supervisory, technical, and administrative functions related to the agency's shore facilities throughout a region. Manage the region's real property portfolio, including owned, GSA-leased, agency's leased, permitting, licensing, etc., and guides real property asset management program decisions including the acquisition, disposal and overall management of real property owned, leased, or consigned to the Coast Guard. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience includes: applying knowledge of commonly applied Federal real property policies principles, rules, regulations, and practices including Federal real property classification to ensure real property management is fully compliant with applicable statutes, regulations, policies and procedures. Experience must have included applying commonly used contracting rules, regulations, and procedures; analyzing alternatives and developing options for property acquisition (e.g., lease, purchase, construction, disposal, etc.); developing policy for acquisition and conveyance of Federal real property; interpreting and applying laws, regulations, precedents, policies and practices related to Federal real estate property acquisition, management, disposal and accountability.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
