About the Position: Serves in the District's Locks and Dams Project Office as technical specialist in connection with the review, inspection, testing, maintenance, repair/modification, replacement, and installation of industrial control used in civil works facilities to include 23 lock and dams in the Pittsburgh District.
Duties
Performs routine, periodic, and emergency specialized maintenance, configuration, testing and auditing of industrial control and electrical equipment at Locks and Dam project sites.
Supports project personnel with the diagnosis, maintenance, repair, testing, and installation of electrical equipment and systems.
Responsible for the overall Electrical Program for the Locks and Dams Branch in include training of maintenance electricians.
Responsible for Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems that control the operation of navigation Locks and Dams.
Serves as Point of Contact for in-house and contractor installed control upgrades at the Lock and Dam project sites.
Requirements

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level which includes knowledge of electronic theories and converting theoretical ideas into practical applications; skills working with programmable logic controllers (PLC), Industrial Computers (IPCs), PCs, Remote Input/Output (I/O) racks and circuits and Operating Systems. Knowledge of electronic and electric systems and devices as well as hydraulic, optical, mechanical systems.
