This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Business & Technical Management Career Path (Acq Demo only) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The pay band NH-03 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-12 to 13. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.
Duties
Applies knowledge of current Army and Joint warfighter doctrine, concepts, structure, and capabilities as well as emerging logistics-related science and technology to determine methods for improving Army logistics readiness.
Conducts broad and comprehensive assessments of current military logistics operations and future logistics requirements.
Responsibilities include identifying problems to be solved or improvements to be made and defining the overall approach for resolution.
Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative or Contracting Officer's Technical Representative for contracts in support of assigned projects.
Serves as a member of a variety of ad hoc working groups established to evaluate and resolve logistics management issues from a systemic/programmatic perspective.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- Drug test required.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). 1) Experience applying Acquisition Logistics Management methods and concepts in order to improve Army logistic readiness 2) Conducts broad assessments and analysis of current and future logistics requirements in order to implement product support strategies. 3) Identifies and address shortfalls to improve the logistics process.
