This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) under Title 5 section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Duties

Serves as the District IT Chief, directing a complex strategic information technology administrative and professional functions, that facilitates the accomplishment of the organization's primary mission within a major metropolitan area. Manages assigned information systems, networks, and facilities. Responsible for keeping the Commander/Director informed of the state of IM/IT by leading organizational inspection programs to ensure subordinate functions are being administered in an effective manner. Works with command leadership to gather and shape IT requirements that are mission focused and enhance the productivity of the command. Develops supplemental technical and procedural documents, required for effective guidance and control of USACE information systems, networks, and programs supporting the command.

• Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance; position is Critical Sensitive.
• One-year Supervisory Probationary Period maybe required.
• Overtime may be required.

One year of specialized experience which includes:1) conducting studies to determine information management/ information technology (IM/IT) requirements for computer software and hardware design; AND 2) developing new or modified IT system plans and policies; AND 3) conduct testing to identify and remedy issues in program development; AND 4) presenting technical reports or briefings for IT software/hardware design. All experience areas shall additionally demonstrate each of the following competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication, and 4) Problem Solving.
