About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, located at Fort Eustis, VA.

Duties

Serves as Quality Assurance Specialist responsible for surveilling contractor's compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements. Evaluates Field Level and Limited Sustainment maintenance services performed on heavy mobile equipment; engineer/construction equipment; and numerous other tactical/non-tactical mobile equipment. Assures that the work and quality of work are performed according to the PWS/contract, QASP and prepares reports on contractor's performance, violations and deficiencies noted and submits to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Reviews and evaluates contractor work processes for compliance with contractual requirements. Updates Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan as required. Prepares new checklists and appropriate sampling plans based on additions/deletions/changes to the Performance Work Statement (PWS). As required, attend briefings, staff meetings and conferences related to interaction between the installation staff and staffs of higher headquarter.

Requirements

  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain and National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • Position may require evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours, to include mandatory overtime as mission dictates.
  • Must possess and maintain valid state driver's license.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) is required approximately 10% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationProduct and Service ExaminationQuality ManagementTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
