Duties
You will stand fixed post watch to monitor personnel movements to and from controlled access areas.
You will maintain accountability of firearms and ammunition (e.g., storage, transportation) under the cognizance of a police department.
You will respond to rapid changes in conditions of readiness to maintain security.
You will brief report details of situations, security violations, adverse weather conditions, or other emergencies requiring immediate attention.
You will conduct high-ground, perimeter security, and other security techniques to protect against snipers.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
1) Responding to and investigating complaints while interpreting and enforcing state and federal laws; 2) Responding to intrusion detection alarms, emergency calls, complaints, and other calls for service; 3) Responding immediately to a full spectrum of critical incidents while demonstrating proficiency on a regular basis; 4) Operating electronic tactical police communication equipment to receive dispatches, respond to calls, and complete official reports.
