About the Position: About the Position: This position is located at the Directorate of Clinical Support at Naval Medical Center San Diego CA.
Duties
Provides a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents and reviews and finalizes correspondence/documents prepared by others in handwritten or electronic drafts.
Responsible for coordinating the work of the office with other offices and organizations.
Receives telephone calls, greets visitors, and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits.
Maintains supervisor's calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/or conferences.
Establishes, updates, and maintains office procedures and records of various types.
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period.
- This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- This position requires the completion of an Occupational Health pre-employment Physical Examination.
- This position requires moderate to heavy lifting up to 25lbs.

GS-06 Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) coordinating meeting arrangements for higher level officials; and (2) maintaining an office calendar to schedule appointments; and (3) utilizing office automation software to draft and modify correspondences.
Education cannot be substituted for experience.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
