You will serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) in the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command of U S MARINE FORCES CYBERSPACE COMMAND.
Duties
You will complete assigned work addressing a wide range of cyber security initiatives and vulnerability issues.
You will communicate security issues and control gaps through security governance processes.
You will provide advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems.
You will employ data from a variety of network and host-based sensors and tools to determine vulnerability analysis of implied incidents.

- A Counterintelligence Polygraph is required and a non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
- Employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
- The incumbent must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish mission assignments, and to attend numerous conferences and community meetings. Position requires occasional travel and periodic weekend/holiday work.
- The incumbent may be required to perform occasional travel (25% or less) which may involve the use of commercial and/or government aircraft.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Requires Security+, CISSP, or CEH within 12 months of assignment.
Qualifications
You are required to have information technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include implementing security designs for new or existing system(s) at the systems or network level.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include performing routine and recurring assignments, including documenting customer business rules; developing flow diagrams; and maintaining technical documentation.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include communicating security issues and control gaps through the security governance processes.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include providing expert analysis and advice on highly complex and controversial program related IT issues or problems, where new analytical techniques must be developed to identify and evaluate findings and satisfy mission requirements.
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by designing, developing, testing, and evaluating information system security throughout the systems development life cycle, incorporating and implementing information system security measures at the systems or network level.

Education
At a minimum, all CES employees in the Professional Work Category require a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Some groups in this category, however, may have a positive education requirement that cannot be replaced with experience, such as a requirement for a particular type or level of an academic degree.
