Duties

Typical work assignments include: Responsible for the analysis and development of the integration, testing, operations, and maintenance of systems. Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan. Provide cybersecurity guidance to leadership. Frequently assists organizations in assessing the impact of implementing and sustaining a dedicated cyber defense infrastructure. Tests, implements, deploys, maintains, reviews, and administers the infrastructure hardware and software that are required to effectively manage the computer network defense service provider network and resources. Monitors network to actively remediate unauthorized activities. Shares strategies, based on emerging threats, needs and gaps with FSLTT officials to facilitate the development and improvement of local policies, procedures, and directives related to critical infrastructure protection programs. Assess key critical infrastructure through high level coordination with FSLTT officials responsible for critical infrastructure protection. Serves as an advisor to FSLTT and private sector officials on security and resilience policies, assessments, and measures to protect nationally and regionally significant critical infrastructure. Serves as a technical authority with regards to findings and recommendations from these assessments, which have a direct influence on investment decision-making and facility security and resilience enhancements.

Qualifications

To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying. You qualify for the GS-13 grade level, if you have: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties: Develops, directs and conducts analyses and evaluate studies through security and resiliency assessments, and reviews and interprets application of security directives and program changes on infrastructure security and resilience; and Plans, coordinates, and conducts complex critical infrastructure security and resilience assessment activities, including the generation of Protective/Resilience Measure Indices based on industry standards, identifying vulnerabilities, and presenting recommendations to corporate executives to mitigate risk; and Serves as a technical authority with regards to findings and recommendations from these assessments, which have a direct influence on investment decision-making for facility security and resilience enhancement. You qualify for the GS-14 grade level, if you have: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties: Advise critical infrastructure owners and operators on methods to improve security plans and reduce risk factors; and Plan analysis and consultation to owners and operators of critical infrastructure that directly influence the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and activities within state and local government and private sector operations to improve security and resilience; and Organize and conduct security assessments, surveys and analyses of critical assets, systems, and facilities to develop measures and influence adoption of such measures by the asset owner to enhance overall infrastructure security and resilience capabilities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
