At the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), we are at the forefront in preventing and detecting terrorist financing, money laundering, and other financial crime. Serve at the nation's financial intelligence unit and protect the United States financial system from criminals and terrorist financiers.
Duties
This position is located in our Strategic Operations Division. As a Training and Outreach Specialist, you will:
Be required knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources in area studied; Typically requires knowledge of the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the organization.
Have knowledge is used to plan schedule and conduct projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program or support setting.
Work within the framework of priorities, funding and overall project objectives, the supervisor and employee develop a mutually acceptable project plan which typically includes the identification of the work to be done, the scope of the project, and deadlines for its completion.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Providing advice, guidance, or training to law enforcement, the intelligence community, national security agencies, financial institutions, or foreign government stakeholders, financial institutions, or foreign government stakeholders; AND
Independently creating materials to educate stakeholders; AND
Assisting in the design and preparation of training or outreach programs, including curriculum, modules, and reference materials.
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Providing advice to law enforcement, the intelligence community, national security agencies, financial institutions, or foreign government stakeholders; financial institutions, or foreign government stakeholders; AND
Assisting in the design and preparation of training or outreach programs, including curriculum, modules, and reference materials.
For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Assisting in the design and preparation of training programs, including curriculum, modules, and reference materials.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education.
