This position will be assigned to the Golf Course located at JBSA Randolph. This is a flexible category position with guaranteed 00 hours per week, may work up to 40 hrs./week. Employees appointed to a flexible category position are not eligible for benefits. Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, reach and climb. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Exposed to extreme heat; possibility of cuts and bruises.

Duties

Operates field-type tractors with attachments to maintain the grasses at the golf course. Operates a variety of equipment to include but not limited to the following: Mowers, Aerators, Plows, Harrows, Clippers, Sprayers, Disks, Post Hole Diggers, Moveable Dozer, Blades, Backhoe, and other equipment ranging from small hand help applicators to tractor drawn liquid and solid dispensers. Makes all adjustments to equipment to ensure proper settings, connections, and mechanical soundness of equipment. Observes all safety rules and regulations pertaining to vehicle operation. Performs operator maintenance on field-type tractors related equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing drug use. Must have a valid driver's license.
  • This position has physical requirements which require the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. Must be able to carry objects up to 50 pounds
  • The applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal U.S. Resident for a minimum of 3 years and must reside in/around the area as noted in the Job Opportunity Announcement.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays or special situations.

Qualifying Experience: Experience which demonstrates the ability to manipulate both tractor and equipment controls at the same time. Must have experience in operating and performing maintenance on field-type tractors and associated equipment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): You qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of equipment to make connections on mechanical drive shafts and hydraulic lines. 2. Skill to manipulate equipment over different types of terrain. 3.
