THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT ANALYST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number NGT5199000 and is part of the TN ARMY Army National Guard. This vacancy is not eligible for membership to a labor organization.

Duties

As a MANAGEMENT ANALYST, GS-0343-09 you will review organizational information (i.e., TDA organization and function manual), previous audit and inspection reports, applicable Department of Army (DA) or United States Air Force (USAF) regulations, and activity mission statements to identify tentative sub-objectives or "firm" objectives based on the role of the audit assignment. Participate in providing management consulting services on all aspects of improving management operations for the state. Accomplish management studies by applying professional best business practices and basic audit techniques to gather, document, and summarize data. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
• Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
• For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
• THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT LEVEL 2 Certified position. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
• Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
• This position is designated as essential personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for a state emergency or disaster declaration. This will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved by the TAG.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in administrative, professional, investigative, technical, or other responsible work which demonstrates analytical ability and a practical and theoretical knowledge of the functions, processes, and principles of management. Knowledge of the National Guard organizational structures, functions, procedures, and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 24 months specialized experience or 1 year equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education, or training which has provided application of practices, theories, techniques, and methods of management. Experience analyzing, interpreting, and developing policies and procedures of local management.

Education

Education Requirement: If you are using education to qualify for this position, master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
