About the Position: Provides technical oversight, guidance, coordination and planning assistance to units preparing for deployments. This position may be filled as a Term appointment not to exceed 13 Months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. Duties

Provide technical oversight/guidance on deployment plans. Provides technical assistance on deployment plans to move units through the deployment process. Compiles, analyzes, and maintains data related to the movement of individuals and materiel. Prepares and provides briefing to Commanders/staff relative to deployments and deployment readiness exercises.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter in accordance with AR 690-85.
  • This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
  • This position is designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
  • The incumbent must continue to perform the duties and requirements of the position to ensure the success of combat operations or to support combat essential systems subsequent to mobilization or an evacuation order.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. [remove LL.B or J.D., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study]. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
