This position serves as the Lead Environmental Protection Specialist under the leadership of the Regional Director. You will be responsible for the environmental review and oversight activities associated with compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and NEPA-related laws.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include:
Experience leading, coordinating, and/or overseeing a group of individuals or a team by communicating assignments, projects, timeline due dates, and solving program issues.
Experience analyzing and interpreting National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Air Act, the National Historic Preservation Act, the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and other Federal environmental laws.
Experience drafting correspondence, memoranda, briefing papers, policy documents and SOP’s for leadership.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Planning and Evaluation: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
Compliance – Knowledge and understanding of budgeting, accounting, and financial principles, practices and techniques used in the evaluation, analysis and scrutiny of financial systems and the management of financial data.
Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Oral and Written communication -Makes clear and convincing oral presentations. Listens effectively; clarifies information as needed. Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
