Duties

Assists in the administration of Career Development programs. Reviews Personnel Management Roster to ensure all requested assignments, realignments, and/or intra-base moves are in accordance with governing policies. Responsible for various special Career Development Programs. Responsible for application process for the undergraduate flight training (UFT) program. Administers actions in Automated Reserve Orders Writing System. May be required to create orders and modifications for section personnel. Ensures accuracy of Personnel Data System (PDS) and performs functional review of data reliability. Responsible for input of data pertaining to career development programs. Conducts in-house, classroom, and on-the-job training on applicable elements of the program.

  • Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
  • Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
  • Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume
  • Leave accrual may be authorized upon request
  • This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which includes assisting in the administration of Career development programs, and administering personnel policies, procedures, rules, directives, instructions; using various automated systems to make reports and extract data; analyzing products to determine adequacy of programs and/or deficiencies; and communicating with sufficient clarity to conduct briefings, trainings, and meetings concerning the management of assigned programs. OR EDUCATION: Successful completion of 1 full year of graduate level education, if related to the position to be filled. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. Knowledge of personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, and publications. 2. Knowledge of automated systems, personal computers, and software. 3. Ability to analyze data products. 4. Knowledge and control of the English language. 5. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing. 6. Knowledge of Readiness programs PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
