You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT (CODE 244.23) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will lead and monitor performance along with the progress of assigned work of junior engineering technicians and shop planners at the GS-12 level or below.
You will ensure products and services are fully aligned with Engineering Technical Authority (ETA) responsibilities and local expectations.
You will identify and evaluate risks.
You will utilize resources to support efforts with other engineering technical codes, Quality Assurance Department's Receipt Inspection Division, and the Supply Department to resolve technical issues associated with material.
You will review material test reports, certificates of conformance, determine material compliance with specifications and requirements, and liaison with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
You will make determinations of First Article Testing requirements and prioritize workload and resources to support project and production shop schedules and Short- and Long-Range View while minimizing work stoppages.
You will be responsible for the resolution of quality technical material issues for controlled and non-controlled material and various processes used by Engineering, Receipt Inspection, and Production codes.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical engineering guidance and techniques by testing, evaluating, and developing new or modified engineering systems by evaluating data, identifying pre and post acceptance testing and vulnerabilities, and defining quality requirements for the repair and maintenance of naval submarine and surface ships.
