You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST (GENERAL ENGINEER/OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST/COMPUTER SCIENTIST) in the CYBER WARFARE and ANTI-TAMPER OFFICE (V5X) of NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND.

Duties

You will integrate the science and technology, engineering and airworthiness, and test and evaluation functional disciplines. You will delegate technical authorities to the FSTs and FRC MRO Engineering via the COMFRC FST executive/chief engineer. You will provide expertise across a broad spectrum of disciplines which encompass the range of technologies related to complex naval air weapons systems. You will require the ability to exploit the potential technological advances to the maximum advantage of the Navy and the Nation in both offensive and defensive cyber domains.

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NH-03) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector). Establishing, coordinating, and implementing NAVAIR Command Cyber Warfare and related procedures in accordance with NAVAIR, Navy and DoD Cybersecurity and System Security Engineering requirements mandated by law and/or regulations; 2) Developing and implementing investment strategies for Naval Aviation Weapon Systems Defensive Cyber Solutions; 3) Building a culture of collaboration among Cybersecurity professionals, including cybersecurity and systems security engineering professionals.
