About the Position: Join us at the United States Southern Command. We provide direct support to a four-star unified Combatant Commander, but are compact enough that our staff also works with senior leadership representatives of our inter-service, inter-agency and (public and private) international partner organizations. Our contribution to furthering our country's relationships with South and Central American nations and peoples are substantial.
Duties
Provide contract oversight for programmatic, administrative, custodial, and operational staffing contracts budgeted under the Headquarter (HQ) Commandant office.
Resolve problems affecting the end cost, quality, schedule, and performance of contracts (i.e. HQ funded GSA transportation and custodial).
Implement the execution of administrative, budget, and financial activities as the principal financial and administrative advisor.
Maintain effective liaison relationships with USAG-Miami, HQs senior personnel and other HQs staff personnel.
Develop new operational and supply approaches, modify processes/techniques, and provide materials for guides/standards to be used by HQ staff.
Analyze applicable policies and procedures to recommend changes on improving work processes utilizing manpower and material resources more effectively geared towards the overall command project and special projects.
Manage completion of annual inventory of property and property accountability tasks and responsibilities.
Utilize Government Purchase Card to procure goods and services, as required and within delegated procurement authority and government procurement policy.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement 5% of the time.
- Position requires incumbent employee to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-employment physical examination to meet the physical effort requirements of this position. An annual physical or medical surveillance examination may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Working with contractors and/or contracting staff to resolve issues. 2) Utilizing a purchase card to secure goods. 3) Managing administrative records to include utilizing travel and training systems. 4) Preparing bill reconciliation.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
