About the Position: Join us at the United States Southern Command. We provide direct support to a four-star unified Combatant Commander, but are compact enough that our staff also works with senior leadership representatives of our inter-service, inter-agency and (public and private) international partner organizations. Our contribution to furthering our country's relationships with South and Central American nations and peoples are substantial.

Duties

Provide contract oversight for programmatic, administrative, custodial, and operational staffing contracts budgeted under the Headquarter (HQ) Commandant office. Resolve problems affecting the end cost, quality, schedule, and performance of contracts (i.e. HQ funded GSA transportation and custodial). Implement the execution of administrative, budget, and financial activities as the principal financial and administrative advisor. Maintain effective liaison relationships with USAG-Miami, HQs senior personnel and other HQs staff personnel. Develop new operational and supply approaches, modify processes/techniques, and provide materials for guides/standards to be used by HQ staff. Analyze applicable policies and procedures to recommend changes on improving work processes utilizing manpower and material resources more effectively geared towards the overall command project and special projects. Manage completion of annual inventory of property and property accountability tasks and responsibilities. Utilize Government Purchase Card to procure goods and services, as required and within delegated procurement authority and government procurement policy.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement 5% of the time.
  • Position requires incumbent employee to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-employment physical examination to meet the physical effort requirements of this position. An annual physical or medical surveillance examination may be required.
