Duties
As an Army Communication Planner serving within a 4 Star Command, the primary responsibility is to orchestrate and execute strategic communication plans to ensure seamless and effective communication across all levels of command.
This position demands keen attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of military communication protocols.
Develop comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the mission, goals, and objectives of the 4 Star Command.
Coordinate with senior leadership to understand priorities, messaging, and desired outcomes.
Develop procedures for the rapid retrieval and dissemination of information during both routine operations and crisis situations.
Conduct training sessions to educate personnel on communication protocols, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Secret Clearance required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
- You may be required to lift up to 25lbs for this position.
- Appointment to this position may be subject to a three year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing communication strategies and tactics, and developing guidance material, correspondence, articles, bulletins, brochures, fact sheets, and other collateral material;; 2) Researching, and providing assistance with the understanding of target audiences, stakeholders and strategy/tactics for expressing initiatives and objectives; 3) Represents the organization with a variety of councils, boards, working groups, and panels inside and outside the agency; AND 4) Preparing news releases, public information/education materials, web content, and other informational materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DB-02/GS-11).
The DE-03 pay band encompasses the pay range of the GS-12 step 1 thru the GS-14 step 5. This position is NOT remote.
