This position is located in International and Refugee Affairs Division, Refugee and International Operations Field Office, Parole Operations. As a Senior Adjudication Officer (Parole Liaison), you will adjudicate complex and precedent setting cases, liaise, provide technical guidance on adjudications, assist with policy and program development and implementation, and maintain the integrity of U.S. immigration laws, policies and programs.

Duties

Serve as a Senior Adjudication Officer (Parole Operations Liaison) within Refugee and International Operations (RIO), Parole Operations to provide and oversee efficient delivery of humanitarian immigration benefits and other services. Serve as an authority in the interpretation of policy for humanitarian programs and provide guidance on the adjudication of cases with national security and public safety concerns. Function as a subject matter expert in complex and time-sensitive litigation and handling of classified cases. Liaise with FDNS, external law enforcement and other United States Government partners to adjudicate cases with national security and fraud concerns. Assist supervisory officers in monitoring and supporting the performance of teams of individuals who make adjudication determinations on applications for humanitarian immigration benefit applications. Research and/or analyze problems and issues, making recommendations on sensitive cases within USCIS and from other entities, and prepare decision papers for leadership when necessary.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 09/13/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 09/13/2024. GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Researching and making final determinations on complex immigration cases involving eligibility for humanitarian immigration benefits, and writing final determinations with legal analysis to support decisions Coordinating with law enforcement, intelligence community partners, or other agencies on matters relevant to national security and public safety Providing guidance, direction, and support on policy matters for immigration services; and Providing training, coaching, or mentoring to ensure quality and consistency in the adjudication process Please read the following important information to ensure you submit everything we need to consider your application: It is your responsibility to ensure that you submit your responses and appropriate documentation prior to 09/13/2024.
