This position is located in the International and Refugee Affairs Division, Refugee and International Operations Field Office, Parole Operations.
As a Supervisory Adjudication Officer (Parole Operations Liaison), you will provide technical and administrative supervision, evaluate work performance of subordinates, serve as a primary liaison for Parole Operations, and make recommendations on sensitive and urgent cases.
Duties
Serve as a Supervisory Adjudication Officer (Parole Operations Liaison) within Refugee and International Operations (RIO), to provide and oversee efficient delivery of humanitarian immigration benefits and other services.
Serve as Parole Operations primary liaison with FDNS, task forces, external law enforcement and other external United States Government partners for cases with national security concerns, fraud concerns and time-sensitive litigation.
Plan, assign and conduct supervisory review of work to ensure that benefits and services are being granted appropriately and that quality adjudications and administrative processing is achieved and maintained.
Prepare plans, reports, and analyses of operations to include reviewing individual and program performance and taking action to ensure compliance with established procedures goals, standards, and objectives.
Identify training needs of employees; provide or arrange for needed development and training; and/or identify ways to improve productivity, promote team building, and improve operational practices.
Establish effective working relationships with individual attorneys or representatives, attorney groups, community-based organizations, intra-agency stakeholders, and other government agencies.
Represent the district, division, directorate and agency in various capacities to promote the agency's mission.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 09/13/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 09/13/2024.
GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Making final determinations on complex and sensitive immigration benefits cases that are discretionary, have high visibility and are of great importance to the agency
Establishing and maintaining liaison with management, government officials, and other government agencies on matters related to processing immigration benefits, national security, fraud and/or public safety
Developing short- and long-range plans for the execution of refugee, asylum or humanitarian immigration benefits programs; and
Developing and drafting policy and/or operational guidance for the provision of humanitarian immigration benefit services
