Duties

You will serve as a computer scientist applying a broad knowledge of the engineering principles and techniques of computer science. You will have knowledge in network engineering and computer science methodologies, related to computer hardware and software, software programming, relational databases, operating system environments, software installation, etc. You will architect, design, and engineer computer solutions that interface with various data sources and systems within a defined architecture and security constraints. You will plan, schedules, and manages projects/tasks monitoring cost, schedule, and performance of network software development and software sustainment efforts and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency within the command. You will identify controversial elements in software design concepts and ascertains areas of research and analysis which may be required to resolve them.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Demonstrating knowledge of network engineering and computer science methodologies, related to computer hardware and software, software programming and installation, relational databases, operating system environments, system administration, circuit design and network technologies; designing computer solutions; and planning, scheduling and managing projects. Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
