Duties

Giving full attention to what customers are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Obtain fingerprints and investigation forms, ensuring documentation is adequate and forwarding for processing of the appropriate security clearance and/or background investigation. Receive, evaluate for regulatory compliance, and processes requests for Leave Without Pay, Advance Leave, Leave Transfer, Family Friendly Leave, and Family Medical Leave. Providing customer and personal services to include customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Provide general office clerical support such as filing, copying and downloading documents, typing correspondence and other documents for the CPAC. Provide general information regarding duties of the position, basic qualification requirements, application procedures, eligibility requirements.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. You may qualify based on education and/or experience as described below: GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting specialist in reviewing Request for Personnel Actions (RPA's), vacancy announcement, prepare package for rating and ranking of applicants, assist with in-processing of new employees, using personnel computer, word processing and /or other automation equipment to prepare a create a variety of documents, download reports to distribute to HR Specialist, greets customers and determine the nature of their visit. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. *Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
