Duties
You will serve as the Director of the Public Safety Division and resident expert to the MCLB Albany command on all matters of Public Safety
You will develops plans and programs, budget allocation and distribution and fiscal planning and program oversight, administration, manpower management, personnel oversight and other matters related to managing the FES and MCPD programs.
You will exercise policy direction and provides leadership, coordination, and guidance through the Branch Heads.
You will review and recommend actions necessary to effectively implement policies.
You will support tenant commands by providing law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services and dispatch.
You will support mutual aid with community partners with fire and emergency medical services.
You will be thoroughly conversant in the National Incident Response Plan and National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS).
You will establishes, revises, or reviews emerging policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff to ensure mission accomplishment.
You will supervises, provides program oversight, leadership, administrative guidance, manpower management, budget and fiscal oversight.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position requires carrying a cell phone 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- This position is Emergency Essential and is subject to recall after normal business hours.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ability to lead and supervise a large organization with a track record of progressively responsible leadership in a multi-functional public safety program; Must be thoroughly conversant in the National Incident Response Plan, National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS); Comprehensive knowledge and ability to make decisions and recommendations concerning Law Enforcement, Public Safety, Emergency Consolidated Communications Center and security programs, techniques, tactics, and procedures; Comprehensive knowledge and ability to make decisions and recommendations concerning fire and emergency services to include department operations, certification/training requirements, equipment, fire suppression tactics and techniques and protection systems, Advanced Life Support, Automated External Defibrillator Program, and Fire Prevention Programs, station dynamics, and management/personnel issues unique to the fire service; Ability to apply considerable inter-personal skills in presenting staffing recommendations and negotiating solutions to disputed recommendations and the ability to foster internal and external relationships with personnel critical to the organization.
