You will serve as a SCIENTIST in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Duties

You will serve as Network Manager of Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific's (NIWC PAC) Classified Secret Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT/E) and Cloud based IL6 networks. You will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining all RDT and E Network Authority to Operate (ATO's) for the Center in support of the Command's Core Information Dominance/C4ISRMission. Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs. You will detect and identify vulnerabilities and understand mitigation solutions, perform system testing to enhance systems security programs. You will design policies and procedures for network cybersecurity and make decisions to enhance the enterprise network security posture. You will collaborate in sensitive challenging situations with software development teams to establish common strategies and plans for enterprise software engineering designs.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

ND-05: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, detect and identify vulnerabilities and perform system testing to enhance systems security programs, design policies and procedures for network cybersecurity. ND-04: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, detect and identify vulnerabilities and perform system testing to enhance systems security programs, design policies and procedures for network cybersecurity. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
