About the Position: Serve as the supervisor of the Unit Movement Section, Transportation Division, Logistics Readiness Center responsible for the traffic function involving the use of all major modes of transportation such as rail, air, highway, and water.

Duties

Perform supervisory duties such as approve/disapprove leave, assign work, and evaluate work performance. Oversee work involving movement of personnel, material, units, personal effects and/or various supplies and equipment by commercial or military means. Interpret the latest traffic management changes and requirements to update organizational procedures to improve program operations. Maintain close liaison with representatives of commercial transportation organization to ensure cooperative efforts in accomplishment of transportation requirements and to maintain good working relationships. Evaluate daily operations to ensure data is updated accurate and complete, as well as to resolve problems associated with the movement of passengers and goods.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed Tier 1 background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess (or obtain) and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless you have previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary, you can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: accounting, business administration, business law or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
