About the position: This position will be assigned to the Inns Of Charleston, JB Charleston Air Force Base, SC.
Physical Effort: Lifting and carrying supplies, materials, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Required to stand on hard surfaces for extended time. Bends, stoops, and works in tiring or uncomfortable positions.
Duties
Receives, counts, weighs, and checks items to ensure that the vendor has delivered the type and quality of items purchased. Accepts only items listed on approved purchase order receiving copy. Records quantity received on purchase order receiving copy, condition of items, and forwards completed document.
Places items in stockroom locations, stacking items in groups by commodity and size. Stocks empty spaces on shelves and neatly arranges the merchandise. Fills requisitions of activities and retains triplicate copy of the requisition in the storeroom to account for the issues. Forwards all signed storeroom requisitions to the supervisor at the end of each workday. Reviews stock levels with supervisor for adequacy and recommends disposition of slow-moving or dead stock items.
Assists in end-of-month inventories of stock by counting items and giving figures to supervisor. Ensures that the supplies and equipment are safeguarded and secure at all times; permits only authorized personnel in storeroom; during periods of absence, locks and secures all storerooms.
Turns keys over to supervisor according to prescribed procedures. Maintains high sanitation standards and cleans storerooms and stocks regularly. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsible for sorting, counting and packaging linens, issuing, receiving/delivering, stamping, equipment, supplies, furnishings and various other items required in the daily operation of Lodging. Maintains records and reports on items received, stored, or issued on daily/weekly/monthly basis. Performs inventories as required by management/directives.
Delivers supplies, equipment and other items to various floors/ facilities as required. Assists in the removal and disposal of old carpeting/padding/.
Assists in loading/unloading of supplies and equipment and other items on/off vehicles. May be required to perform lawn maintenance as required by management. Will perform other related duties as assigned. Maintain diplomacy when dealing with staff, guests and management.
Expected to be dependable, reliable, trustworthy and demonstrate standards of conduct, personal hygiene and dress. Ensures EEO concepts are applied and that an appropriate work environment is maintained.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in and knowledge of methods used in receiving, storing, and issuing routine materials and equipment. Must be able to organize, arrange, and remove stock. Skill in use of dollies, jacks, and handtools used in warehousing tasks. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution.
